Haley wins all six votes in tiny Dixville Notch

In Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, where the nation's first primary voting began late Tuesday morning, Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley received all six votes.

Four of the six votes were registered Republicans and two were undeclared voters. The remaining voters in the Granite State are expected to head to the polls later Tuesday.

Although the small resort community is too small a sample size to indicate the direction of voters' preferences, Haley promoted the vote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) early Tuesday morning.

“A great start to a great day in New Hampshire,” the former South Carolina governor wrote. “Thank you, Dixville Notch!”

In the 2016 Republican presidential primary, former Ohio Governor John Kasich (R) received three votes, former President Trump received two votes, and the other Republican candidates received only one vote.

Haley hopes to do well in New Hampshire, where undeclared voters are allowed to participate in the primary.

Recent polls show Haley is doing well among independents and moderate voters in New Hampshire. Her supporters hope her candidacy will be competitive with Trump, the other major contender in the race.

Many other candidates in the race have concluded their campaigns ahead of the nation's first primary in New Hampshire. Most recently, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) resigned on Sunday.

Mr. Trump still leads New Hampshire with 50.6 percent of the vote, according to Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters polling averages. Hale currently stands at 36.8%.
