Haliburton hits a remarkable 3-pointer to seal the comeback and give the Pacers a 2-0 lead against the Cavs

In a surprising turn of events, the Indiana Pacers, currently ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference, have pulled ahead in their playoff series against the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers. They secured a significant victory in Game 1 and then took a surprising 2-0 lead by winning both away games, even coming back from a 20-point deficit.

The last moments of the second game were intense. With only a narrow margin, Aaron Nesmith delivered a dunk, and Donovan Mitchell committed an offensive foul moments later. Pascal Siakam closed the gap with a layup, transforming it into a three-point game with just 27.1 seconds left.

Despite using a timeout, the Cavs struggled and ended up losing possession on an inbound pass. In a crucial moment, they fouled Tyrese Halliburton, who then hit a step-back three-pointer for a final score of 120-119. This was a hard blow for Cleveland, especially since Mitchell had put up an impressive 48 points in a losing effort.

In the final quarter, Halliburton scored 11 of his 19 points, showcasing his clutch performance. Notably, this marks the first time since 1994 that the Pacers have won the first two playoff games on the road, something they hadn’t achieved since facing Orlando.

The Cavaliers faced challenges as they were missing key players: Evan Mobley, the NBA’s defensive player of the year, along with DeAndre Hunter due to injuries acquired in Game 1, while Darius Garland has missed his fourth consecutive game.

Looking ahead, Game 3 is scheduled for Friday night in Indiana, where the Pacers aim for a second straight appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals.
