Halle Berry’s Ex-Husband Files Restraining Order
Olivier Martinez, Halle Berry’s former husband, has secured a temporary restraining order against her, claiming she physically abused their son, Maceo.
Martinez accused Berry of assaulting their 12-year-old boy on September 26 by jumping on him and choking him. He also mentioned prior incidents of violence and alleged that Berry threatened to have him deported, as reported by TMZ.
According to the court documents, Maceo was at home with Berry and her boyfriend, Van Hunt, playing video games when the situation escalated. Berry allegedly entered the room, criticized her son’s gaming, calling him “so stupid” and an “idiot.”
As their argument intensified, Martinez claimed that Berry attacked Maceo, grabbing him by the neck and choking him while yelling, “Who is dominant now?!”
The day after the incident, Martinez stated that Berry texted him expressing remorse about the previous night, acknowledging that both she and Maceo felt terrible about what had happened.
There are further allegations of violence in the legal filing, including an incident from five years ago when Berry supposedly hit Maceo in the face. Additionally, Martinez claimed that during a dispute about child support, Berry made derogatory comments about him to their son.
The restraining order mandates that Berry maintain a distance of 100 yards from Martinez and restricts her visits with Maceo to court-ordered times—two days a week and every other weekend.
The court also instructed both parties to engage in confidential mediation to discuss custody arrangements. Berry is prohibited from consuming alcohol or any substances during visitations and may be subject to sobriety testing.
Martinez is seeking sole custody of Maceo, with a hearing set for October 16.
