Mamie Lovelock, star of When Calls the Heart, is currently on life support after falling from a five-storey balcony.
Nicole and Rob Compton, 19 years old and in love, GoFundMe Nicole put a call out to the crowdfunding page in hopes of receiving assistance with her medical costs. They detailed the tragic series of events that led to Lovelock’s injuries on the crowdfunding page. “On Saturday, May 11th, Nicole traveled to Winnipeg to assist Mamie, who was having a medical emergency. Nicole arrived in time and was able to save her life,” they wrote. Sadly, after the initial emergency, things took a very unexpected turn for the worse. “UPDATE: It is with deep sadness that we report that Mamie, who has been in intensive care for the past two weeks, was removed from the safety of her hospital room on May 26th and carried onto a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories,” they wrote on the page.
During the initial emergency, Nicole and Rob seemed hopeful that Lovelock would recover.
The actress was taken to a hospital in Winnipeg for treatment, then flown to Vancouver, the paper said, and it was later reported that she is “alive and showing signs of improvement, although the extent of her recovery is unknown at this time.”
“We are trying to support her every day. Any donations will help us stay with her, but this may take longer than a month,” they initially said.
Unfortunately, reports of her falling from a balcony soon followed, and reports of Lovelock’s condition also seemed serious.
“She suffered life-threatening injuries, underwent multiple major surgeries and is currently on life support,” Nicole and Rob wrote on the star’s GoFundMe page.
Nicole and Rob did not provide any further information about how the actress suffered the fall while under the care of medical professionals.
“We are all devastated and shocked at this extremely difficult time,” they wrote.
Lovelock’s acting career has been on the rise, and she won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance by a Young Regular Actress in a Television Series, Age 10 or Under, in 2015. She also won a Joey Award in 2014 for Best Young Ensemble Cast in a Drama Series. (Related article: ‘Walk or I Kill You’: Actress Jenifer Lewis describes harrowing recovery from near-fatal fall)
