Israel on Monday accused Hamas again of using a hospital as a “human shield” after terrorists opened fire on Israeli soldiers from inside Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
Shifa Hospital was notorious early in the war for Israel’s claims, later proven, that the facility was used to hide terrorists, transport hostages, and hide underground Hamas facilities.
Early Monday Israeli time, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari said Israel was carrying out limited operations at the hospital, protecting its operations while targeting Hamas terrorists.
Israeli Defense Forces units are currently carrying out precise operations in the area of Shifa Hospital based on intelligence information indicating that senior Hamas terrorists are using the hospital to carry out and promote terrorist activities.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that terrorists were firing at Israeli soldiers “from a number of hospital buildings.” It added: “The troops engaged the terrorists and sustained several casualties.”
One of them was apparently a senior Hamas commander. The IDF and the Israel Security Agency (ISA, also known as “Shin Bet” or “Shabak”) said in a joint statement:
Following IDF and ISA intelligence indicating the presence of senior Hamas terrorists in the Shifa hospital, IDF and ISA forces conducting precise operations within the compound were ordered by the head of Hamas’ Internal Security Operations Directorate. Eliminated a certain Faik Mabu. He was also responsible for coordinating Hamas’ terrorist activities in the Gaza Strip.
Faik Mahbou was armed and hiding in the premises of Shifa Hospital when he was eliminated in an encounter with the military, from which he began his terrorist activities. There were numerous weapons in a room adjacent to where he was eliminated.

The IDF also released other evidence of terrorist activity at the hospital.
“We have learned that the terrorist organization Hamas continues to carry out military activities inside the hospital. We are happy to provide the necessary humanitarian aid. Our demands are simple: all terrorist activities within the hospital is to be stopped immediately.”

Israeli government spokesperson Avi Heyman explained the IDF operation at Shifa hospital at a press conference on Monday, reiterating that Hamas is using the hospital and civilians as human shields, which is a war crime. Ta.
Breitbart News requested comment on whether the U.S. Senate would withhold military aid until Israel holds new elections, as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) requested last week. However, Hyman declined to comment.
Without getting into American politics, Hyman said it’s important to keep in mind that: We are not a banana republic. We are fighting a war for survival. We are fighting every day today for the Jewish state. We are fighting for our children. …to prevent Gaza from becoming a threat to Israel again. ”
