This weekend brought a bunch of interesting movies to streaming services. There’s the new Netflix sequel Happy Gilmore 2, an A24 horror comedy called The Death of a Unicorn on HBO Max, and Peacock’s Phoenician Scheme. Also, if you’re in the mood for a new series, Netflix is dropping the second half of Sandman Season 2 alongside the songwriting documentary series Hit Maker.

New movies and shows to stream this weekend: Happy Gilmore 2, evil, The Death of a Unicorn and more
It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years, but Happy Gilmore 2 is finally out on Netflix! It’s nice to see original cast members like Julie Bowen and Ben Stiller joining Adam Sandler again. Then there’s evil, which made its debut on Prime Video and seems pretty intriguing. Oh, and The Death of a Unicorn is set to land on HBO Max this Saturday; it looks strange and funny.
Prime Video July 25th: evil
evil, which snagged an Oscar, has been a hot pick over the last year, and while it’s available on Peacock, it will also be on Prime Video this week. If you missed the buzz about 2024’s Pop Culture Phenomenon, now’s a good time to check it out, especially since Part 2 just hit theaters.
Max new on July 25th: The Death of a Unicorn
In The Death of a Unicorn, Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega play a father-daughter duo who accidentally kill unicorns during a weekend trip. When Elliott’s wealthy boss (played by Richard E. Grant) finds out, he gets curious about the creature’s magical blood and what it might offer. The cast also includes Will Poulter and Anthony Curran.
