Harbour Town long shot bets

It’s always difficult to handicap the week after the Masters.

This field is usually short-staffed, motivation is definitely a key factor, and there are usually a few people who leave late.

Also, the amount of money wagered on RBC Heritage is far smaller than the Masters, which is almost always the biggest draw of the year in golf for sportsbooks.

But then again, money won (or lost) at Harbor Town at RBC Heritage is just as green as money won (or lost) at Augusta National.

The PGA Tour tried to eliminate post-Masters malaise by making the RBC Heritage a “designated event.”

That means there’s a huge prize pool and an unlimited field of 69 golfers.

Scottie Scheffler is the +400 betting favorite this week, but there’s a chance the Masters champion will miss out to be with his pregnant wife.

Xander Schauffele (+1000), Rory McIlroy (+1200), Ludwig Aberg (+1200) and Patrick Cantlay (+1800) round out the top five on the odds board.

Is it possible that Longshot disrupts this field? Let’s take a look at some:

RBC Heritage Predictions for 2024s

Brian Harman (55/1, Caesars)

Brian Herman made headlines last week for his similar performance at the Masters, but the former Georgia Bulldog was bitten by Augusta National and missed the cut.

However, Herman has a lot of experience in Harbor Town, so it’s not a terrible situation for anyone looking for value this week.

Herrmann has three top-10 finishes in the last 10 races, including a seventh-place finish in 2023.

Cam Davis (66/1, bet rivers)

While this may not be the type of setup that would suit Cam Davis’ skillset, the long-hitting Australian has had some very strong performances in Harbor Town during his career.

Davis finished 25th in his debut at the circuit, then went on to win T3 in 2022 and finished seventh last year.

Davis had been hovering around the leaderboard all the way to his T12 finish at Augusta, so he should have plenty of confidence heading into Hilton Head.
