Milwaukee, Wisconsin is America’s hog paradise.
With the Republican National Convention soon taking place in the city, the city is celebrating its status as the birthplace of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, a powerful global brand that symbolizes American freedom.
Delegates to the Republican National Convention said they are inspired by the positive atmosphere and energy, with some planning to make the Harley-Davidson Museum a major stop during celebrations and events.

“Milwaukee is not necessarily a place that many of our delegates have been to,” California Republican Party Chair Jessica Patterson said in a statement, adding that she wanted delegates to get a feel for Milwaukee’s history and culture.

This exhibit showcasing American motorcycle history opened 16 years ago on July 12, 2008, and has proven to be a destination for motorcycle enthusiasts and non-riders interested in American history.
The three-building complex, set on 20 acres, houses more than 450 Harley-Davidson motorcycles and hundreds of thousands of memorabilia that tell the story of Harley-Davidson’s history, according to the company.

The museum celebrates the company’s impact on popular culture and American tradition, and chronicles the brand’s dramatic history, which has seen it come close to collapse on multiple occasions.

Harley and the Davidson brothers grew up as neighbours and friends. Harley and Arthur Davidson were both bicycle enthusiasts and mechanics.

They started tinkering with small internal combustion engines and put a motor on a bicycle. This was their first Harley-Davidson motorcycle. According to the museum, Harley-Davidson sold just three motorcycles in 1905.
Harley-Davidson The company is expected to produce 163,000 bikes in 2023, making it one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. The now publicly traded company reported revenue of more than $5.8 billion.

Former Republican Vice President Mike Pence is often seen wearing cowboy boots, blue jeans, and a leather vest while riding a Harley Davidson. While he was serving as vice president in 2017, he named his new puppy Harley.

The Republican Party held its first national convention in Pittsburgh in 1856. They then nominated Abraham Lincoln as their presidential candidate in 1860 at their next national convention.
In total, the Republican National Convention is expected to draw more than 50,000 visitors to Milwaukee, according to city officials. The convention will run from Monday, July 15, 2024, to Thursday, July 18, 2024.
