During NBC’s coverage of the DNC on Thursday, NBC host Kristen Welker noted that during Vice President Kamala Harris, a 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, speaking at the DNC that night, “we didn’t hear much about how she would be different from a Biden administration.”
Welker said Harris “tacked immigration and Israel head-on.” “What was notable was that when she talked about her vision for the future, it seemed like she was going to build on the policies of a Biden administration. The speech filled in a lot of blanks, including her background, being raised primarily by her mother, and how having a strong mother who sat at the table as her brain inspired her to become who she is today, inspired her to become a prosecutor. And when she talked about what she’d do for the country, she talked about the things that are really important to Democrats, like middle-class tax cuts and voting rights. But again, there wasn’t much said about how she would be different to a Biden administration.”
