Harris Has ‘Energized the Party’ Like Obama

Gov. JB Pritzker (D-Ill.) said on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday that Vice President Kamala Harris has “reinvigorated” the Democratic Party, much like former President Barack Obama did in 2008.

“How will this convention be different with Vice President Harris as the nominee and then President Biden taking office?” moderator Jake Tapper said.

“First of all, you were talking about re-election nominations, re-nominations, but now we’re talking about something completely different, right? I mean, this candidate has energized the party in a way that I haven’t seen since 2008. If you think about it, I’ve been to every convention since I got the right to vote. I’ve never felt this kind of energy and enthusiasm other than Barack Obama’s convention,” Pritzker said. “So the fact that it’s being held in Chicago and people are coming here and calling, that counts. I’ve had calls late into the campaign here from people who just instinctively wanted to come.”
