During Bloomberg’s “Balance of Power” broadcast on Thursday, Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) said that Vice President and 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris will hold a press conference, but for now, “she is presenting herself to the American people as the presidential candidate of our party,” and that former President Donald Trump, the 2024 Republican presidential candidate, is “attempting to divert attention and distract from Kamala Harris’ clearly successful campaign.”
Co-host Kylie Reintz asked, “Congressman, it’s worth pointing out that Donald Trump answered a lot of questions from the media today at Mar-a-Lago, and he and J.D. Vance have criticized the vice president for not doing so. When are we going to see her sit down for an interview or hold a press conference like we did today?”
Krishnamoorthi responded, “Yes, she will be holding a number of press conferences in the coming weeks and months. As our previous guest said, I think she is currently introducing herself to the public as the presidential candidate of our party. We have our convention coming up. And I think there is plenty of time for her to hold press conferences now and in the future. But I think what Donald Trump is really trying to do right now is to divert attention from her campaign, because he knows she has momentum and she’s growing in the polls. He doesn’t like that, so he’s trying to divert attention and distract from Kamala Harris’ campaign, which is clearly successful.”
