A shocking report on Saturday said Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, allegedly cheated on his first wife with the family’s nanny and got her pregnant.
The second gentleman said, His then-wife Kirsten More than 15 years ago, he married Najen Naylor, a blonde nanny who was a teacher at the private school his two children attended.
Naylor did not have the baby, said a close friend with direct knowledge of the affair and pregnancy. Daily MailIt’s unclear what the friend meant exactly.
When interviewed by the media at her Hamptons home, Naylor did not deny the affair or the pregnancy.
“I’m kind of scared right now,” she reportedly said.
Naylor could not immediately be reached for additional comment Saturday.
Stacey Brooks, a friend of Naylor’s who gave birth to twin boys around the time Naylor was allegedly pregnant, also did not deny the allegations, instead telling media that she could not speak about the matter without Naylor’s permission.
The news is reportedly causing serious concern within Harris’ campaign, even though recent polls have shown that her lead in battleground states has evaporated since Vice President Donald Trump became the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Sources said Emhoff, 59, and his ex-wife, a film producer, divorced in 2009 after an apparent affair was discovered. The couple share a 29-year-old son, Cole, and a 25-year-old daughter, Ella, a model and fashion designer.
Records show the couple listed “irreconcilable differences” in their divorce papers.
A message left with the Harris campaign was not immediately returned Saturday, and Kirsten Emhoff, 57, could not immediately be reached.
In September 2009, Naylor posted a video to Facebook “introducing” her three babies, captioned it “Baby Party!”
Two of the babies are Brooks’ children and were born two months before the mission.
The third child appears to be a little younger, but is not believed to be Brooks’ daughter and has not appeared in any subsequent Facebook family photos. It is unclear who the mother of this third child is.
Following the affair, which is believed to have taken place around 2008 or 2009, Naylor was forced to resign from her teaching job at The Willows, an upscale private elementary school in Culver City, California, where she taught the Emhoffs’ children and babysat for the couple on the side, the outlet reported. Tuition for elementary and middle school at the school ranges from $32,525 to $41,535.
“[Naylor] “He was a lovely person and a great teacher to my children,” their mother, whose children attended the school at the time and was aware of the affair, told the Daily Mail.
The woman also told the outlet that she had a dislike for Emhoff.
According to the outlet, there are no birth records in Los Angeles County for anyone named “Brooke Naylor” born in 2008 or 2009, and no babies with the surname “Emhoff” were born in the county that year.
The second gentleman is a strong supporter of abortion. NBC News In May, men called for this to be seen as a family issue, not a women’s issue.
“This is about fairness for women,” Emhoff said.
A friend close to Naylor, who knew her around the time of the alleged affair, denied the allegations to The Washington Post, claiming she was not pregnant.
“She was lovely, loved by everyone and was a great teacher,” said the celebrity event planner, who lived with Naylor for more than a year 17 or 18 years ago.
“Every parent wanted her to be their child’s teacher. She was the perfect person. She came from a good family. She wasn’t pregnant. She didn’t have a baby. I should have known,” the source said.
She said Naylor’s move to New York “disappointed” her friend, adding that she had not been in contact with her in recent years but had “heard” that she “recently gave birth to two children.” [is] It’s really exciting for her.”
