Kamala Harris’s Potential 2028 Run Sparks Republican Reactions
Congressman Mark Harris (R-North Carolina) stated that the idea of former Vice President Kamala Harris possibly running for president in 2028 could definitely “help” the Republicans as the pivotal midterm elections approach.
During an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday, Host Matthew Boyle mentioned that Harris is contemplating another presidential run.
Kamala Harris herself said, “I might be. I might be. I’m thinking about it.” She acknowledged the demands of the job in a conversation with Rev. Al Sharpton at the National Action Network Conference in New York City.
Mr. Harris noted that Harris received the loudest applause among the 2028 Democratic candidates who attended the conference, which included figures like J.B. Pritzker (D-IL) and Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ).
She expressed that “the status quo is not working and hasn’t been for many people for a long time,” emphasizing the need for change.
“We need to cut down on some governmental red tape. People want progress, not processes,” she added.
Harris stated that the expectations of the American people should center around their interests, not the ambitions of the politicians. “Anyone aiming for leadership should put the needs of the public first. That’s how I think about it. I’ll keep you updated.”
North Carolina conservatives argued that Harris’s potential candidacy might remind voters of their support for Trump and their opposition to her. They suggested, “Kamala Harris is back. Her visibility as she flirts with a 2028 run will serve as a reminder of what people rejected in 2024.”
He concluded, “Democrats aren’t making any efforts to address the fallout from the November 2024 elections. Kamala Harris being in the spotlight could definitely work in our favor.”
