Harris’ ‘Leadership Style’ Gives Us ‘Opportunity’ to Differ from Biden on Middle East

In an interview with 7News Detroit on Monday, 2024 Democratic vice presidential candidate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) responded to a question about whether a Harris-Waltz administration would be different from a Biden-Harris administration on the Middle East, saying: He said so. “I think the leadership style that she brings to this issue gives us that opportunity.”

7 News Detroit reporter Sarah Michaels asked. “Here in Michigan, many of our community members have family and loved ones in the Middle East. What do you think we can do differently than the current Biden administration to end the violence we're seeing in the Middle East? ?”

Mr. Waltz replied: “Yes, that is unacceptable. As we have seen this now, on the one-year anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attack and the hostages that need to be returned, and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, I think it is a problem. The leadership that Kamala Harris has shown means that we can move forward. I think that became abundantly clear, especially over the weekend when former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley (retired), said that Donald Trump is the most dangerous person to the stability of our country and the world. Masu. I think what we're doing is leading by our values, not abandoning our allies, not coddling dictators like Donald Trump. I think that's the first thing that sends a strong message that our allies are coming together to bring stability to the region, and I think Kamala Harris is the person to do that. ”

Michals followed up with, “Are there any actions you two would take together that would be different from what we're seeing now?”

Mr. Waltz replied: “Well, I think the leadership style that she brings to this issue is what gives us that opportunity. I think you can see at this point that our allies are nervous about Donald Trump. They know he can't be trusted, whether it's in the Middle East, in Ukraine or, let's be honest, in the Pacific where Donald Trump tends to pander to people who aren't working with us. No matter what. And I think that kind of relationship building will start to strengthen our alliances. This requires a broader effort, and as Kamala Harris has proven, she's 150. I've met world leaders who are more than just people, but when she's in the situation room, experts know she's the right person to be there. When Donald Trump is in the situation room. The Secretary of Defense, the President's own National Security Adviser, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and others say they can't trust Donald Trump, and that's a big difference.”
