Harris plans to release medical report on Saturday

Vice President Harris is expected to release a report on her medical history and health information on Saturday, according to a senior Harris aide.

The aide said the report concluded that the vice president has the physical and mental resilience necessary to successfully carry out the duties of the presidency.

The decision to release the report on Saturday came as Harris' advisers saw it as an opportunity to use her medical information to draw attention to the former president's own physical health and mental acuity. Yes, the aide said. The campaign also wants to emphasize that Trump has not released any information about his health.

President Trump said this in August. CBS News A month after his first assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, he said he was “willing” to release his medical records to the public, but has not yet done so.

The campaign also hopes to use Trump's unwillingness to participate in a new debate against Harris as evidence that he is avoiding scrutiny, the aide said. The aide also noted that Harris' advisers want to contrast her age and vitality with the 78-year-old Trump.

The age issue was a concern among Democrats when President Biden, 81, was the frontrunner, but since Biden stepped down and Harris, 59, became the nominee. The party is trying to flip that script.
