Harris surprises Stewart by stating Biden was capable of a second term

Kamala Harris Supports Biden for Second Term

In a recent episode of “The Weekly Show,” former Vice President Kamala Harris surprised comedian Jon Stewart by expressing her belief that former President Joe Biden deserves another term.

Harris acknowledged during the conversation that Biden might not have the appeal necessary to win in 2024, yet she insisted he has the capability to serve four more years in office. “I’m not talking about ability at all. I believe he was fully capable of serving,” she stated, leading Stewart to admit his surprise at her remarks.

Reflecting on her own political journey, Harris mentioned her campaign strategies from last summer, emphasizing that she should have differentiated herself more from Biden before he stepped away from the race. “I think I could have taken a different stance,” she acknowledged, but clarified that her thoughts were not meant to criticize her own future aspirations.

When Stewart pressed her for clarity on Biden’s potential second term, she confirmed, “Yes, yes,” after he expressed disbelief at the notion.

Continuing the discussion, Harris elaborated on the challenges of running for president while in office. She metaphorically compared it to “running a marathon at the pace of a sprinter,” noting that the pressures of governance make campaigning particularly challenging.

Stewart added a touch of sarcasm, responding, “That’s lovely.” To which Harris continued, “It’s more than just the ocean,” emphasizing the intricacies and difficulties of the presidential race.

As she promotes her new memoir, “107 Days,” about her disrupted presidential campaign, Harris has been vocal about Biden’s readiness and confidence leading up to critical moments, including the upcoming debate with Donald Trump. She suggested that Biden might be experiencing some self-doubt, recalling how “something felt a little off” during their discussions about campaign strategy.
