A new poll shows Vice President Harris has gained support on key issues and maintains a three-point lead over former President Trump.
An NPR/PBS/Marist poll found Ms Harris leading Mr Trump 51% to 48%, within the margin of error, and she also narrowed Mr Trump’s lead on key issues such as the economy.
Polls show that Trump still has a sizeable six-point lead on illegal immigration, while Harris has a huge 15-point lead on abortion.
The Marist poll was conducted Aug. 1-4 and has a published margin of error of 3.4 percentage points.

The survey came days after a Fox News poll showed Trump and Harris neck and neck in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state in the presidential election.

The race in the Keystone State is similar to where it was in April, when Biden and Trump were tied 48%-48%. A poll released Friday showed Harris and Trump tied in Pennsylvania 49%-49%, nearly identical to the state’s final 2020 results (49.85% for Biden to 48.69% for Trump).

The poll also showed that Trump narrowed his lead among voters under 30 (-27 points in April to -4 points today), voters over 65 (-5 to -1), suburban women (-32 to -12) and college-educated voters (-18 to -10), while slightly widening his lead among independents (+8 to +9).
