Vice President Harris' campaign posted most of Tuesday's debate on social platform “X,” calling it a new ad.
“The latest ad has been released.” Campaign Caption Wednesday's video post.
After Harris' closing remarks during the debate, hosted by ABC News, the video cuts to omit Trump's closing remarks and shows a pop-up photo of the vice president with a voiceover saying, “I stand by this message.”
Harris was seen by many to have performed well in Tuesday night's debate, a reversal of fortunes for Democrats compared to their negative assessment of President Biden in June. A CNN poll found that 63% of registered voters said VP Harris performed well in the debate, while about 37% said the same about Trump.
CNN anchor Chris WallOnece said the debate was “devastating” for Trump.
“I never thought I'd witness such a devastating argument as you and Dana had. [Bash] “The election in June effectively devastated Joe Biden's reelection campaign, and I think tonight's election was just as devastating,” Wallace told CNN's Jake Tapper.
“I think Kamala Harris has silenced Trump on just about every issue that I can think of. She silenced him on abortion. She silenced him on January 6th and democracy. She silenced him on national security,” he added. “And then she turned to the former president and said, 'The military leaders who served with you consider you a disgrace.'”
But some Republicans have argued that Trump won the debate. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) said Wednesday that Trump “clearly won” over Harris.
“Let me put it bluntly: President Donald Trump is the current presidential debate champion. He clearly won last night's debate, 3-1,” Johnson told Fox Business Network, suggesting that debate modestors David Muir and Lindsey Davis had conspired against Trump.
