Vice President Harris appealed to women voters at a Wisconsin rally Thursday night, claiming former President Trump doesn't know what he's talking about about women's health care.
During a Trump rally, she said Trump would protect women, that if he was elected women would stop thinking about abortion, and aired a video praising the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. did. She then played a clip of Trump, who calls himself the “father of IVF,” at a Fox News town hall in Georgia this week.
“First of all, Donald is different. No one wanted Roe v. Wade to be overturned. Women are dying of sepsis because they can't get the medical care they need,” Wisconsin said. Harris spoke at a rally in Green Bay, state. “Couples just trying to grow their families are being cut off midway through IVF treatment.”
“Now that man calls himself the father of IVF? I mean, what does that mean?” she added, referring to her rival's comments about in vitro fertilization (IVF).
At the town hall, Mr. Trump sought to claim credit as a champion of fertility treatment, where conservative Supreme Court justices created uncertainty by overturning Roe.
“He is responsible for getting us into this crisis in the first place,” Harris said. “As I listen to Donald Trump, it becomes increasingly clear that he has no idea what he is talking about about women's health care in America.”
“It's very strange,” Harris said Wednesday when asked about President Trump's comments about in vitro fertilization during a campaign trip.
At Thursday's rally, Harris said she would be a president for all Americans, regardless of “where they get their news,” noting that she had been interviewed on Fox News the night before. She said former President Trump participated in a Univision town hall that night and was asked about January 6, 2021.
“He called it 'Love Day,'” she said, to boos from the crowd. “And what we're all clear about is that the American people are tired and tired of his gaslighting. Enough, enough.”
Harris held a rally in La Crosse, Wisconsin, early Thursday morning, where she mocked hecklers during the demonstration. She was interrupted mid-speech and quipped that she should instead attend a “smaller” rally “down in the street”.
Trump leads Harris by less than 1 percentage point in Wisconsin, according to the Decision Desk/The Hill polling average.
