Harris, Trump neck and neck in Wisconsin: Poll

A poll released Wednesday showed Vice President Harris and former President Trump nearly tied in the key “blue wall” state of Wisconsin.

in Marquette Law School Survey A poll of Wisconsin voters (conducted July 24-August 1, shortly after President Biden ended his reelection bid and endorsed Harris) showed Trump leading Harris 50 percent to 49 percent.

But the numbers were reversed among Wisconsin voters, with Harris leading 50 percent to 49 percent in a race between the two candidates.

Harris will get her biggest boost from a multi-candidate race that also includes independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver and Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

Among Wisconsin voters, Harris led Trump by two points in the multi-candidate race, 45% to 43%, overturning Trump’s one-point lead in the two-way race. Kennedy received 8%, and Oliver and Stein each received 1%. No other candidate reached that threshold.

Among likely voters, Harris held a one-point lead in the multi-candidate race: Ms. Harris had 46%, Mr. Trump had 45%, Mr. Kennedy had 6%, Mr. Oliver had 1% and Ms. Stein had 1%.

A poll conducted before Biden and Trump’s debate in June showed Biden’s approval rating in a head-to-head matchup with Trump among both registered voters and likely voters was one point higher than Harris’ recent approval rating.

Among registered voters in Wisconsin, Biden and Trump each received 50 percent support, with Biden leading Trump by two points among Wisconsin voters, 51 percent to 49 percent.

Wisconsin is one of the battleground states that both candidates see as crucial to winning the November election. The poll was conducted before Harris became the party’s official nominee and before she chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

The survey of 877 likely voters had a margin of error of 4.6 percentage points, while the survey of 801 likely voters had a margin of error of 4.8 percentage points.
