Harris-Walz Ticket Gives Fewest Interviews of Any Candidates in History

Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) have given a combined eight interviews since joining the race in July, what Axios claims is the fewest interviews by a major party presidential candidate in “modern U.S. history.”

Harris was a candidate for 62 days and Waltz for 48 days. Neither Neither Harris nor Waltz have given more than five interviews, Axios reported.

In particular, Harris did not respond to media inquiries, and when she did, she often avoided questions and gave vague answers.

Harris did not elaborate on her plans to lower rising costs when questioned by members of the audience during her latest interview with Oprah Winfrey on Friday.

Harris responded with a 90-word response consisting of two sentences that began with a cliché about the “American Dream.” She acknowledged that under the Biden-Harris administration, the American Dream has become out of reach “for so many people these days.”

When asked about solutions to an open southern border, Harris ignored the question and spoke 441 words in about three minutes before Oprah stepped in to save Harris from a verbal spat.

“So to answer Justin's question, now that the bill has died and it hasn't passed, are you going to reintroduce it?” Oprah continued.

“Absolutely. If I am elected president of the United States, I will ensure that this bill gets to my desk and that I sign it into law,” Harris replied.

Harris' strategy appeared to be the same during interviews with CNN, ABC and the National Association of Black Journalists.

Harris' campaign hopes to do more interviews in the coming days, including one with CBS News. 60 min, The New York Times As reported, Harris' campaign wants a moderator who won't question her record.

Members of the mainstream media noticed that Harris did not provide policy details in every interview.

CNN “Harris hasn't provided the specifics that some undecided voters are looking for,” he said, criticizing her for being “unwilling or unable to lay out a comprehensive blueprint for what she would specifically do as the 47th president,” and pointing out that she has “stuck to broad themes and headlines.”

Politico Holly Otterbein, Lauren Egan, Brittany Gibson roast Harris was criticized for sticking to “her script” at the National Association of Black Journalists convention.[S]”Harris did not significantly alter her position or stray significantly from her talking points during the nearly hour-long meeting,” they wrote. “Harris did little to distance herself from President Joe Biden's administration.”
