A new poll finds that Vice President Harris’ favorability ratings among independents and Democrats have increased since June.
A new Gallup poll released Thursday found that Harris’ favorability rating among U.S. adults rose from 34 percent in June to 47 percent in August. Among Democrats, her approval rating rose from 77 percent in June to 93 percent this month. Her approval rating among independents also increased by double digits, from 28 percent two months ago to 41 percent in August, according to Gallup. vote It was released on Thursday.
The poll, released just hours before she is due to formally accept the party’s nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, showed Ms Harris’ approval rating among Republican voters at 5 percent, the same as in June.
President Biden, who gave up on reelection in late July, saw his approval rating rise by seven points to 43%. Meanwhile, the poll showed former President Trump’s approval rating dropped by five points to 41%. Both politicians were viewed favorably by supporters of their own party, but independents had a more favorable view of Trump, at 36% to Biden’s 30%.
An Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Policy Research poll released earlier this week found that 48 percent of adults have a somewhat or very favorable view of Harris.
The Gallup poll was conducted among 1,015 adults from Aug. 1 to 20 and has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
