Harvey Weinstein Sent from Rikers Island to Bellevue Hospital as Rape Retrial Jury Selection Continues

April 21 (UPI) – Former Hollywood legend Harvey Weinstein will remain at Bellevue Hospital this week when a retrial proceeds and the ju-described choice continues.

Last week, the ju judges began for Weinstein’s retrial over many years of sexual offence allegations.

Weinstein, 73, was convicted of rape five years ago, which led to the #MeToo movement and was sentenced to 23 years in prison.

But Weinstein’s conviction was overturned last year by a New York Court of Appeals, paving the way for a new trial.

On Wednesday, the dishonest former Hollywood film producer filed an urgent request to be transferred from Rikers Island to Bellevue Hospital due to a “tongue infection.”

The former Miramax chief was one of the most influential film wars. His career was in Hollywood status when several women accused him of using him, and was forced into sexual encounters.

He was in Bellevue in November and last spring, and during that time it was reported that he had undergone VIP treatment.

His request will remain this week until Weinstein stays until Thursday, until he decides whether he will remain in Bellevue for the duration of his trial.

Weinstein, who turned 73 on March 19, claimed that he could see “death” even if he was not permitted to leave Riker.

“He needs to do what he needs to do for himself,” Elizabeth Glazer, founder of Vital City and former criminal justice counsel for former NYC mayor Bill De Blasio, told The New York Times.

“(Weinstein) may be seeking reforms to the entire system, but his immediate purpose is comforting for him,” added Glaser.
