A New York Times/Ipsos poll found that respondents felt more strongly that society has gone far enough in supporting transgender ideology than those who believe society has gone far enough in supporting transgender ideology. It became clear.
The poll asked specifically about “how society deals with transgender people,” identifying the problem as “people who do not recognize their gender at birth.”
49% agreed that society is too considerate of transgender people, but less than half (21%) agreed that society is not accepting enough. Ta.
A further 28% said society had reached a “reasonable balance”.
Seventy-seven percent of Republicans think things have gone too far, while only 5% think the movement hasn't gone far enough.
of public opinion poll It also included an eye-opening response on the topic of “transgender female athletes,” meaning athletes who were born male but identify as female.
Participants were asked whether such people should be allowed to participate in women's sports. 79% said it should not be allowed. 94% of Republicans disapprove of transgender participation in sports, compared to a perhaps surprising 67% of Democrats.
Furthermore, when it came to “puberty blockers and hormone therapy for minors between the ages of 10 and 18,” 71% of respondents said that those under 18 should not have access to it. This represented 90% of Republican sentiment and 54% of Democratic sentiment.
Democrats also had some interesting answers regarding trust in government.
Democrats agreed 86% of the time when they called the U.S. economic system “unfairly advantageous to the wealthy.” Additionally, 67% of Democrats agreed that the government primarily works to serve its own interests.
But at the same time, 54% of Democrats say the government “often does a better job than people give it credit for,” and only a few Democrats agree that the government is “almost always wasteful and inefficient.” It was 45%.
However, this contradiction was not seen on the Republican side.
A whopping 94% of Republican respondents said they strongly or somewhat support deporting undocumented immigrants with criminal records, at 86% and 8%, respectively, while Democrats were not far behind at 83%. (49% and 34%).
The survey provides insight into which news outlets respondents watch, with the most consistent response for Republicans being FOX News at 15%. Another 12% said social media and 10% said networks like CBS, NBC, and ABC.
Among Democrats, 14% cited the aforementioned networks, 13% cited social media, and 9% cited CNN.
The interview schedule for the survey was from January 2nd to January 10th, and interviews were conducted with 2,128 respondents aged 18 and over. 1,022 people identified as Republicans, 1,025 as Democrats, and 81 as independents.
