Legal Troubles for East Plano Islamic Center’s Development
The East Plano Islamic Center’s ambitious project, initially branded as EPIC City, has seemingly undergone a name change to Meadow, perhaps to obscure its true intentions. However, recent actions by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton could mean serious trouble for the facility, possibly leading to its permanent closure.
According to some reports, progress on the construction now appears doubtful. This skepticism was amplified last weekend when Paxton declared his intention to indict all the parties involved. Sarah Gonzalez, a host on Blaze TV, noted Paxton’s stark announcement about the lawsuit, emphasizing the collective nature of the legal actions against the center and its affiliates.
The lawsuit claims that the East Plano Islamic Center, along with Community Capital Partners and their leaders, breached peace by allegedly engaging in an illegal land development effort. Gonzalez, in her commentary, remarked on the implications of this lawsuit. “When a lawsuit is filed, it’s like a warning,” she stated. “Everyone involved needs to grasp the seriousness—this isn’t something that we do in Texas.”
Gonzalez shared her broader concerns about the trends she perceives in Texas and beyond. “I see what’s happening in Europe and other areas,” she reflected. “It worries me, especially the rising crime statistics and acts of terrorism.” Although she clarified that her views are not personal, she insisted that Texas is not an environment for such developments.
