Hasan Piker Backs AOC for 2028 Presidential Run

Left-wing commentator and Marxist Hasan Piker recently expressed his support for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), stating he would campaign for her if she decides to run for president in 2028.

During an episode of “The Axios Show,” Piker commented, “I think AOC would be a good candidate.” He mentioned having conversations with her and her team, as reported by Axios.

When asked about campaigning for her, he replied, “Oh, absolutely. Yes.” He elaborated, suggesting that the dynamics within the Democratic Party are often different behind the scenes compared to what is publicly discussed.

A report from March indicated that left-leaning Democrats were encouraging Ocasio-Cortez to consider a presidential run, followed by another report hinting she might be leaning in that direction.

In an interview with Democratic strategist David Axelrod, Ocasio-Cortez, affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), articulated her broader vision for the country:

“You know, it’s funny because in this op-ed that Jeff Bezos paid for in The Washington Post, there was this line you had mentioned earlier about, well ‘as a potential 2028 contender,’ XYZ, and in that context, it was very clear this was a veiled threat, right? It was the elite saying, ‘If you want this job, you just stepped out of line, and we want you to know where the real power is…’”

“What’s amusing about that is that they assume my ambitions are positional. They think I’m after a title or a seat. My ambition is much larger. I want to change this country. Presidents and elected officials may come and go, but certain things—like single-payer healthcare, a living wage, workers’ rights—those are lasting.”

Piker, known for donning a suit reminiscent of Mao Zedong’s style, has previously controversially stated that America is worse than the terrorist group al-Qaeda.

According to Friday’s Axios article, “Piker traveled to China last year and has said that the country is the closest government model he would like to see adopted in the U.S.”
