U.S. Air Force member Aaron Bushnell posted a chilling final post on Facebook shortly before he self-immolated outside the Israeli embassy in Washington, D.C.
Bushnell, 25, posted on Facebook about standing up to injustice before committing horrific self-immolation early Sunday morning, repeatedly shouting “Liberate Palestine.”
“Many of us like to ask ourselves, ‘What would I do if I lived in a time of slavery?’ Or the Jim Crow South? Or apartheid? If my country was committing genocide, what would I do? What do you do?” he asked in the post.
“The answer is, you’re doing it. Right now.”
The post, his first post since April 2018, includes a link to a Twitch livestream video of Bushnell setting himself on fire while saying, “I will no longer participate in genocide.” was. [in Gaza]”
The video was later removed for violating the platform’s community guidelines and terms of service.
