Travis Querce is licking his wounds after the Kansas City chiefs are defeated in the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy in a Super Bowl matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 35-year-old tight end spoke to reporters after the Eagles won with the Chiefs' final score of 40-22.
Kelse acknowledged that it was a totally disappointing performance, praised the Eagles for their victory, saying they defeated the Chiefs in “all three phases” of the game.
The three-time Super Bowl champion said he “wears a hat on the Eagles” after the video match, and told reporters in the locker room. Share with x. “They chased us, all three phases.”
“[We] I couldn't get that offensively.” “They know they chase us in all three stages and, in addition, they play behind the stick when they turnover, penalty, and attack.”
“We couldn't find that spark,” he added. “We couldn't find that momentum.”
The visibly calm athlete admitted he could not remember the chief playing this poorly throughout the season.
“We haven't done that bad all year round,” he said. “If everything doesn't go well, you won't lose that way.”
Still, Kelse said he and his team never threw a towel and fought both teeth and claws all the way to the end.
“This team was going to fight to the end forever and you saw it. We were always going to fight even if the score was delayed,” he added.
Kelse finished the regular season with a career low of yards (863) and a touchdown (3), and the athlete currently facing retirement questions had zero reception in the first half.
After the interview, Kelse was reunited with his family and girlfriend Taylor Swift. He has been dating since 2023.
