Hayden Panettiere Opens Up About Her Sexuality

Okay, so maybe I went a bit overboard with the headline. Yes, Hayden Panettiere has expressed an interest in women, but calling it a “very important message” might be a bit much.

I might have gotten swept up in the excitement around the fact that the 36-year-old actress identifies as bisexual. It’s easy to lose track of clarity—happens to all of us, right?

This whole revelation seems to be tied closely to her upcoming book, which she’s set to release later this month. She mentioned that the idea of discussing her personal life came to her while writing it.

Panettiere, who shares a child with former boxer Wladimir Klitschko, was cautious about being perceived as just another celebrity jumping on a “bisexual bandwagon.” She wasn’t interested in following trends.

It appears she wanted to wait until she had something significant to promote, which, honestly, seems pretty strategic and thoughtful. Her last public relationship ended in 2020 with Brian Hickerson.

“It took me two years to write this book, and I wasn’t entirely sure what I should touch on. Then I saw the stories that emerged naturally and thought, ‘Why not?'” she shared.

She chose to be “radically honest” about herself, stating it was something she struggled to reveal at the right time.

And indeed, she has a history of relationships with women. She revealed that she’s felt a stronger attraction to women since her youth.

She admitted, “I didn’t have the courage to fully commit emotionally, because if I fell in love, it was never something I wanted to hide.”

But she hadn’t felt confident enough to explore that side of herself until now.

It seems like she’s ready to share more about her experiences with women, promote her book, and maybe, just maybe, find a special someone to go public with. After all, who doesn’t love a good love story?
