Narcan Used Prior to Hayden Panettiere’s Death

Dr. Sally Satel, a psychiatrist and expert in addiction, appeared on ‘Fox & Friends Weekend’ to discuss reports indicating that Narcan was administered before Hayden Panettiere’s death. She also touched on the Lindsay Clancy murder trial in Massachusetts, looking at the defense’s claim that postpartum psychosis influenced the tragic events involved.

In a recent interview with “Good Morning America,” Lesley Vogel, Panettiere’s mother, shared the emotional ultimatum that led to a strained relationship with her daughter in the months leading up to her death. The interview aired on Monday.

Vogel recounted visiting California about a year ago to support Panettiere as she sought to end her turbulent relationship with Brian Hickerson, a choice her daughter ultimately made on her own.

“She recognized that Brian was a toxic presence,” Vogel stated. “She understood she needed to remove him from her life.”

However, Vogel noticed a shift in her daughter’s behavior about six weeks later, prompting her to return to Florida.

Vogel recalled a distressing phone call where Panettiere said, “I’m going to be with the person I love,” which left her in disbelief. “I couldn’t believe she had reverted to that, especially after everything he’d done to her.”

Following her therapist’s guidance, Vogel told Panettiere that she could no longer maintain contact as long as Hickerson remained in her life. This decision was the start of their estrangement, which Vogel initially thought would be short-lived.

“I just needed that time apart,” Vogel expressed. “I honestly didn’t expect things to take such a tragic turn for Hayden.”

Panettiere was discovered unresponsive at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 16. According to a police report, Hickerson and his brother called 911 upon finding her. Hickerson later handed over a bag containing Panettiere’s medications to the authorities.

Preliminary autopsy findings revealed no trauma that could have contributed to Panettiere’s passing, but the case remains under investigation. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has been brought in to assist.

Vogel shared with “GMA” that her daughter initially led a “happy life” until her late teens, observing a downward trend as she matured. She lamented that as Panettiere grew older, she no longer had the same influence over her decisions.

A significant change occurred when Panettiere decided to relinquish custody of her daughter, Kaya, whom she had with former fiancé Wladimir Klitschko. Vogel believed this marked a pivotal moment for her daughter.

“Vlad had to take custody for safety reasons,” Vogel noted. “In my view, that was a pivotal moment that eventually led her to her struggles.”

In a New York Times interview, Vogel mentioned Panettiere’s chronic physical pain, stating, “She was in discomfort and afraid, unable to function normally.” Vogel pursued various medical treatments for her daughter’s symptoms.

In conclusion, Vogel hopes her daughter will be remembered as the “talented, beautiful, outgoing, and intelligent” woman she truly was. “It’s a complex picture,” she reflected. “People often don’t realize that having an outwardly successful life doesn’t mean there aren’t internal struggles.”
