On Tuesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” Massimo Calavesi, Time magazine’s Washington bureau chief, said: Interview with President Joe Biden “He looks almost exactly the same as he does on TV. He looks older than when he took office and it’s obvious,” he said.
Calabresi began by talking about how Biden told him “I could take you on” during the interview, saying, “That was a light-hearted moment in the interview. It was actually pretty funny.”
“President Biden has brushed off concerns about his age. What does he look like to you?” host Jake Tapper asked.
Calabresi responded: “He looks pretty much the same as he does on TV. He looks older than he did when he first took over. That’s pretty self-explanatory. You can see it when you line up the tapes. The transcripts are a good place for people to evaluate that. We also have a colorful portrayal in the article of what he looked like there.”
Tapper continued, “When this issue came up, did you get the impression that Mr. Trump was taking seriously the concerns that polls show a majority of the American public, including Democrats, have about his age?”
Calabresi responded, “Yes, when we asked him about it he answered right away, without any hesitation. In a way it’s a standard answer. I didn’t get the impression he was worried about it.”
