President Biden’s reelection campaign manager claimed Monday that Donald Trump chose Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate because he is comfortable “breaking the law.”

“Donald Trump chose J.D. Vance as his running mate because he will do what Mike Pence did not do on January 6th: do everything in his power to support Trump and his extreme MAGA agenda, even if it means breaking the law and whatever harm it may cause to the American people,” Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement.
Shortly after Trump announced he had chosen Senator Vance as his running mate, Dillon launched a fierce attack on Vance, accusing him of supporting abortion restrictions and tax cuts for the wealthy.
“Vance is known as one of Washington’s most far-right extremists, supporting members of the January 6th congressional rally and calling anti-Semitism and divisive rabbi Marjorie Taylor Greene a ‘friend,'” Dillon concluded.
The statement came a day after former President Biden called for Americans to “remain calm” following an assassination attempt.
“My fellow Americans, tonight I want to speak to you about the need to de-escalate our political tensions. We may disagree, but we are not enemies,” Biden said in his third prime-time Oval Office address since taking office.
