Heat to trade Jimmy Butler to Warriors: report

The book appeared to close the Miami Heat's destructive relationship with Starguard Jimmy Butler, who was reportedly traded for the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.

The Heat agreed to trade Butler for Andrew Wiggins and the Warriors for the protected first round pick. ESPN reported. Detroit Piston is also involved in the deal, reportedly acquiring Lindy Waters III and Josh Richardson.

According to ESPN, Miami left Shoot Round and then left Shoot Round before halting indefinitely. Butler didn't like the plan and left.

He was initially stopped in seven games after taking harmful actions to his team. He returned to play three games, but his second suspension came after missing a team flight in January for a road trip. He was then benched for two games.

Butler was not satisfied with his role in the heat, and he requested a deal from the organization. Initially, team president Pat Riley said the organization would not call Butler. But that mindset has changed over the past few weeks, bringing the deal reported on Wednesday.

He averaged 17 points and 5.2 rebounds in 25 games. He was also one of the main reasons Miami has been able to compete in two NBA Finals since the team signed him before the 2019-20 season.

Butler signed a two-year, $121 million extension at the time of the Golden State trade agreement, ESPN reported.

Miami has acquired a small number of role players in the trade. Wiggins was mostly the 2022 NBA Finals MVP, where the Warriors won the title.
