Heather Rey El Moussa Talks Marriage and Therapy

Heather Rey El Moussa is opening up about her marriage to Tarek El Moussa, sharing insights into their strong relationship amid life’s challenges. The “Selling Sunset” star has revealed that the couple is currently engaged in couples therapy, which she describes not as a sign of problems, but rather a tool for personal and relational growth.

“Tarek and I are in couples therapy, and I’m not ashamed to say that,” Heather shared. “I think people will be surprised to hear that.”

Married since 2021, Heather emphasized that fostering a healthy partnership requires significant effort, especially when blending families and navigating past histories. “Marriages have their ups and downs,” she noted, adding that the initial excitement often gives way to reality. “There’s a lot of real life involved.”

For Heather, therapy has been a proactive choice. It’s not just a last resort; it helps deepen their understanding of one another. “You learn a lot about each other, about yourself, past traumas, and that carries over into your marriage,” she explained.

Despite having different backgrounds and perspectives, Heather and Tarek are committed to evolving both together and individually. “We are two very different people just trying to grow together and raise happy, healthy little humans,” she remarked.

In a blended family, she noted the importance of clear communication and adaptability. “We may have small differences and problems, but we communicate through it, and that can make you stronger in the end,” Heather said.

To maintain the spark in their relationship, Heather believes in having fun together and remembering their friendship. “Tarek and I are true friends, and that’s what keeps us stable.”

On a professional note, the couple is gearing up for Season 2 of ‘The Flip Off,’ where Heather hinted at a potential twist in their dynamic. “Honestly, we backed away from swapping partners for Season 2, which is me and Christina going up against Tarek,” she explained. “Because Tarek thinks he’s invincible, but I believe Christina and I can beat him if we work together.”

Even with busy schedules, both are focused on their individual paths. Heather is developing her beauty line, Heather Rae Essentials, while Tarek ventures deeper into real estate. “We’re together a lot, but we also see each other throughout the day and do our own things,” she shared.

Recently, Heather marked the launch of her beauty brand with the debut of her lip gloss shade, Love Letter, calling it a reflection of self-love. She encourages her future self to take it easy and appreciate her accomplishments. “Keep loving yourself because you’re a rock star mom,” she advised.
