Heavy Roman Regins, CM Punk drama

WWE gave us a lot of storylines to digest, without any sympathetic commentary, during an entertaining and groundwork Survivor Series that wasn't anything special.

The Men's WarGames match provided the basis for a Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk storyline for when WWE is ready to get it going again. Reigns thanked Punk for his help with a handshake, but WWE made sure Punk could clearly be heard reminding Paul Heyman of his debt to Paul Heyman after his win at Rogers Arena on Saturday night. did.

The drama between Reigns and Punk began in a shark cage, where they stood on opposite sides like they were on opposite sides of a buddy cop movie.

Reigns briefly prevented Punk from entering the match, but “World No. 1” prevented Reigns from entering the main cage at the next opportunity. As the match officially began, Heyman came out to plead with the Tribal Chief to trust Punk.

Unfortunately, Reigns accidentally hit Punk with a spear. However, Punk gained everyone's trust by pulling Reigns off the table at the last minute to avoid Bronson Reed's Tsunami splash.

It was the moment when the punk and original bloodlines finally got on the same page. The match ended with each member going for a solo Chicore, then Punk hit a GTS and Reigns pinned Chicore with a spear for the win.

It meant that for the first time since they were reunited, love and respect returned to the original bloodline. Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso thanked Punk by hugging him after his performance, then hugged Reigns as they returned to the stage for the final time.

Despite the loss, Jacob Futu continues to steal the show every time he's on screen with his intensity and athleticism, and Saturday night was no different.

There's still a lot of unfinished business, and Reigns will now have to face Xicore one-on-one – perhaps in his Raw debut on Netflix, or at the Royal Rumble for the Tribal Chief and the rights to Ula Phara. It will be done somewhere. A likely victory for Reigns would bring The Rock back to WWE.

If the men's game was about Reigns and Punk, the women's wargame was about Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan. Morgan was the last person to take part in the reckoning as Mami stood waiting for the Women's World Champion to arrive with her injured bat.

Late in the match, Ripley wisely removed Raquel Rodriguez from the match by handcuffing her to one of the center ring posts. Rodriguez, who saved Morgan from being scammed out of cash by Money in the Bank winner Tiffany Stratton, blocked Ripley's first attempt at Riptide, but was unable to stop her second attempt. I couldn't.

Ripley lifts Morgan up and hits an Avalanche Riptide through the table, ending the match and giving the babyface the victory. That likely means a third matchup between the two for the championship in this current feud will take place sooner rather than later. Ripley finishes off her lovely touch by kissing the table.

The match itself wasn't as good as past women's matches, but the big moments were more important than the heavy storytelling outside of Ripley and Morgan. Iyo Skye always enjoys watching WarGames matches, but even after the match is over, we still don't know who Jade Cargill's attackers are, and yet another tease of a cash cow that's far from genuine. there were.

WWE is seriously pushing this version of Shinsuke Nakamura back as a heel. He looked menacing, and even though it was the shortest and least attention-grabbing match on the card, he pinpointed Los Angeles Knight with a Kinshasa knee kick to win the United States Championship.

Damian Priest feels he is done with the main event scene for a while, as he was at SummerSlam, as World Heavyweight Champion Gunther defeated him with help from Finn Balor. As Priest tumbles to the floor and Gunther collapses into the ring, Balor comes out of the crowd and jumps off the steps, stomping Priest.

This gave Gunter a chance to powerbomb, elbow Priest in the neck, and choke him out. Priest and Baylor – Jealous of their former friend in Judgment Day, the two are left to end their rivalry while Gunther searches for his next challenger.

Once the calendar flips to January, he'll have plenty of options, from Seth Rollins to CM Punk to potentially John Cena and Goldberg.

Bron Breaker continued to look like a star, defeating Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser in a fast-paced, high-drama match to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Sheamus, who had never won an IC title, was given a golden opportunity to score a pin, but Kaiser capitalized on the opportunity with a rare PLE performance and pulled away from Gunther.
