I’m beginning to wonder if it’s HBO or not Our Lastit’s not very simply “for me” because of its brilliant cinematography, heartbreaking performances and epic action. In addition to being one of the sad people who have never experienced the rush of playing the original video game*, I also struggle with one of the central conceits of the show. In other words, I don’t dislike zombies (or “infected”). In fact, I feel more and more sick in the reservoirs of these undead people, contracted by the mushroom plague and reduced to cannon feed in shows that don’t really care about them in a meaningful way.
Yes, yes: I feel bad for zombies Our last.
My strange tension of empathy, known to these monsters, created a barrier to enjoying the entire show. I’m wondering if I should support myself Our LastHero while letting them hunt infected games. Worse, the introduction of “stalkers” in Season 2 has further muddied my emotions with a new type of infected infection that can be thought of, strategized and collaborated with, pursuing a common goal!
Why can’t you stop feeling sorry for HBO zombies? Our Last! ? ! ?

If you live off-grid in a New England town abandoned during the Zombie Apocalypse and have never heard of the HBO hit show Our Last It is an adaptation of the fascinating video game series by critics of Naughty Dog of the same name. Our Last The pandemic is caught up in the open Heart and body A fungus that level out most of humanity in just a few hours. The disease spreads through contaminated flour, infects the host, converting them into brainless shells set for one task, and bites and infects people who remain alive.
Our Last Season 1 follows disgusting smuggler Joel (Pedro Pascal), leading 14-year-old Ellie (Bella Ramsey) through apocalyptic America. Ellie’s mother was bitten during childbirth, miraculously immunizing the girl. After two bonds on their journey, Joel refuses to let Salt Lake City revolutionaries operate in Ellie, hoping to create a cure. He slaughters the entire hospital to save the life of his adopted daughter. Season 2 deals with the fallout of that decision.
Our Last Season 1 did not play crescendo in the epic battle between Joel, Ellie and the infected. Instead, Joel basically decides to kill him without abandoning him. It is a deeply moral choice. Ellie wanted to volunteer for this cause, so her sacrifice may have saved humanity. Heck, the treatment may have saved millions of infections. Instead, Joel has dozens of blood in his hand.
Fan of Our Last Say these impossible moral choices make the show very persuasive. It’s about how love for each other can force us to ignore what is right and wrong. Because Joel actually loves Ellie. so. myself? Are you wondering why you can find compassion for Joel and why you’re not a Cordis monster?

Do you know why you should be afraid of an infected person? absolutely. A bite, we will be one of them. Do you think infected people should be disliked? It’s definitely not. They had no option to infect them. Furthermore, whether they are clickers, hypertrophic agents, or newfounded stalkers, they do not injure humans from hatred. It is a biological order. No more, no more.
In fact, add a stalker Our Last Season 2 appears to emphasize that infected people still have humans under their fungal type. Watching stalkers carefully hunt Ellie in an abandoned grocery store has humanized more than ever before an infected person. In the same episode, Ellie laughs and laughs at taking out an infected person in the new sniper range, and this desperate female zombie is about to turn the intruder into her habitat. (At least, that’s how I read it.)
More and more Our Last The more infected behavior is humanized and the more HBO shows push the human character into purely savage behavior, the more they feel they don’t know who is shaking who is coming out. I care about human characters, their journeys and their struggles. But I also think it’s not just the victory that Endgame has infected. At least they’re starting to work together well
Our Last Season 2 Episode 2 will premiere tonight on HBO at its peak at 9pm.
*I’m more The Legend of Zelda and Stardew Valley A gamer on Nintendo Switch. We exist.
