Recent reports indicate that a staggering 500,000 products have been removed from Amazon’s platform in the past few weeks due to safety recalls from manufacturers.

This wave of recalls includes various imported items, as detailed by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, according to Newsweek.

Notably, one of the products withdrawn is the Icybreeze Cooled Buddy Portable Mist Fan, which ironically has been linked to fire hazards.

Over 22,600 units sold between November 2023 and August 2024 are equipped with lithium-ion batteries known for overheating and potentially igniting. Data from the CPSC reveals seven incidents of overheating, which include two fires.

Additionally, LXDHSTRA’s baby loungers and crib bumpers were sold on their site from May to August 2025 but are now being recalled for safety issues. The loungers were pulled on September 18th due to dangerously low sides, overly thick sleeping pads, and wide foot openings.

As for the crib bumpers, they are considered a choking hazard and do not comply with federal safe sleep standards for infants. No injuries linked to these products have been reported.

Furthermore, more than 480,000 Anker Power Banks from Anker Innovations have been recalled after issues with overheating batteries led to fires. This recall involves models A1647, A1652, A1257, A1618, and A1689, all sold from January to July 2024.

The CPSC recorded 33 incidents of fires and explosions associated with these power banks, including four cases of burns.

In another case, Yooxarmor recalled 1,800 multipurpose children’s helmets that failed to meet federal bicycle safety standards. While no injuries have been reported regarding these helmets, concerns exist over their inadequate impact protection and stability, posing potential risks of head injuries.

A crib mechanism sold by GKKBSJ on Amazon has also been withdrawn due to a faulty battery compartment that lets children access button batteries, which can be ingested and potentially lead to serious harm.

Approximately 3,000 units of this product have been taken off the market.

Lastly, Woolite Delicates laundry detergents sold on Amazon were recalled in March due to the risk of exposure to bacteria that could result in severe infections.
