Here are the jobs that will see major wage growth in 2024

According to PayScale, the 10 jobs that posted the biggest wage increases last year will remain popular well into 2024.

For 2023, Customer Service Assistant Manager, Hairdresser, Master Plumber, Auto Body Repairman, Job Coach, and Audio/Visual Technician are some of the roles the company is focusing on most in its recent year-end report Met. Demand due to rising wages.

Others included an animator, a fitness coach, a roofer and a general manager, Payscale said.

Median salary growth for the top 10 jobs in 2023 will range from 18% to 24%, with customer service assistant managers seeing the largest year-over-year increase, according to PayScale. On the other hand, master plumbers earned the most of the positions, with an average annual salary of $82,700.

The compensation software company also noted that white-collar “knowledge” worker jobs are missing from the “in-demand jobs” list, which is dominated by trade and self-employed jobs. The 10 jobs and their order were determined using information obtained through a survey of more than 770,000 people with jobs.

Lexi Clark, chief human resources officer at PayScale, told FOX Business on Wednesday that “we expect the jobs on this list to remain popular” as 2024 continues.

“I think this reflects some of the changes we're seeing just in the industry,” she continued. “One of the things that we talk about a lot, especially over the past year or so, is that as we think about power relationships back and forth, between employees and employers, This means that tensions are rising.”

Trends reflected in PayScale's list, such as job coaches and roles suitable for self-employment, “will continue into 2024,” Clarke predicted.

Self-employment has increased since the pandemic, she noted, as people experience layoffs or decide to strike out on their own.

“And we find that candidates and employees are constantly looking for something that allows them to shape their lives, rather than having their lives shaped around a job,” Payscale's Chief Human Resources Officer also told FOX Business. “This trend has been on the rise in recent years since the pandemic began, and I think we will continue to see similar trends as we move deeper into 2024.”

Clark said workers are leaning toward self-employment and “work-life fit” because, despite continued economic uncertainty, the job market remains driven by employees and job seekers. He suggested that it reflected what was being done.

Separately, in a report released at the end of July, PayScale found that, overall, U.S. employers increased their employees' base salaries by an average of 3.8% in their 2024 budgets.

The U.S. Department of Labor announced early last month that the country's unemployment rate was hovering around 3.7% in November.

On Wednesday morning, the agency announced that there were a total of 8.79 million job openings in November, FOX Business reported.
