Heritage rips Harris’ ‘dangerously liberal’ policy record with new website, 6-figure outreach to independents

FOX FIRST — Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts on Wednesday unveiled a new website created by the conservative think tank that aims to inform Americans about Vice President Kamala Harris' “dangerously liberal” policy record and a six-figure text campaign targeting independents in key battleground states.

The website, dangerouslyliberal.com, summarizes the history of the Biden-Harris administration on what it calls “failed liberal policies,” including the border, the economy and inflation, energy, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), education and parental rights, “weaponization of government,” health care and crime. As Roberts explained to Fox News Digital, the website serves as a resource to fill in the gaps, as the Harris-Waltz campaign has yet to launch its own policy website.

“The fact that her campaign has avoided posting policy proposals on her campaign website tells us everything we need to know about the vice president's policy record,” Roberts told Fox News Digital. “The reason she's running from her policy record is because it's terrible. I never thought we'd ever have a presidency as disastrous for the American people as Jimmy Carter's. But the Biden-Harris Administration is even worse, especially on the economy, inflation, energy, border and foreign policy. Our website reports the balls and strikes. It gives the American people a kind of report card of the vice president's policy record. And the reason she doesn't want to talk about it is because that policy record is what's causing the American people to suffer.”

“Philosophically speaking, the word that best describes Vice President Harris' policy record is dangerously liberal. In fact, I can't think of a better way to describe it,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Harris-Waltz campaign reportedly plans to launch an advertising blitz starting Wednesday through Election Day trying to link former President Donald Trump to the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025. The conservative think tank has positioned the project as a blueprint for a future Republican administration to reorganize many parts of the U.S. government. The Trump campaign has stressed that it is not affiliated with the project, and Trump himself has publicly said he does not agree with all of its positions.

Roberts denied the “misrepresentation” of the Harris-Waltz campaign, saying it “is not really focused on policy and content.” The Harris campaign's website includes pages for buying merchandise, donating and learning about the candidate's background, but it still doesn't list any policy plans more than a month after she became the Democratic presidential nominee.

“If we take a step back from our own ideological perspective, we know that Americans on the political left also want that conversation. And while we may disagree, in fact we disagree with many Americans on some of these issues, I think what the American republic needs right now is a true policy dialogue,” Roberts told Fox News Digital. “So we've been thinking this summer about the misinterpretations that have been made about our policy project by the Harris campaign and the radical left. We welcome intellectually honest dialogue, but we know that's not happening.”

“So we decided to launch dangerouslyliberal.com, a website that will focus on the vice president's policy record. I think the American people will really welcome this conversation, trusting the credibility of the Heritage Foundation and giving their input on what the vice president has done in that position over the last few years, and what lesser candidates in the House and House races might do.”

The website, accessed by Fox News Digital ahead of its public release, begins with the message: “The Biden-Harris Administration's policies have resulted in an open southern border, increased illegal immigration, soaring inflation, higher taxes, lower wages, an aggressively woke 'DEI,' and much more.”

The Heritage Foundation said the $1 million initiative aims to “provide concise, fact-based, informative content to educate millions of Americans on policy formation and idea sharing.”

The report outlines the president and vice president's “extreme policy positions on an unsecured border, mass amnesty and protection policies for illegal immigrants, Green New Deal energy policies, disastrous economic policies, Medicare for All, and a desire to advance left-wing DEI and CRT agendas,” the think tank said.

The Heritage Foundation said it would run two six-figure text-message and ad campaigns across multiple platforms to drive engagement on its website and “further educate the public about the impact of the Biden-Harris Administration's radical policies and social perspective on America.” The effort to appeal to the independent vote comes at the same time that independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., once a member of a Democratic dynasty, announced on Friday that he was ending his bid for the White House and endorsing Trump. But in the key battleground states of Michigan and Wisconsin, Kennedy cannot remove himself from the ballot.

“What's interesting to me is that in the space of about 48 hours, the radical left has gone from trying to keep Kennedy off the ballot to now fighting and taking action to keep him on the ballot, and the reason is that Kennedy really has a broad base of support from the center-left to the center-right. We've seen that with Heritage,” Roberts told Fox News Digital. “Heritage exists to fill exactly that gap — the gap between what the power elites in Washington are trying to do and what the American people are assuming.”

“And I think our credibility, as we're often called in Washington as policy umpires, and the widespread use of this website in battleground states, will really impact the knowledge base that voters have on which to make their decision,” he added. “They're the ones making the decision. Ultimately, it's them. It goes without saying that it's the American voter that will influence the outcome of the election. And I think this website will be a very helpful tool for them to sit back, look at all the resources that are available to them, all the information, and make an informed decision.”

The website includes explanations and key statistics about Harris' record on key issues, such as inflation “has risen 20% since the Biden-Harris Administration took office in 2021.” Heritage estimates that rising energy costs have cost Americans an average of $10,000 per household since the Biden-Harris Administration took office. On border security and illegal immigration, the website states, “Under Border Patrol Officer Harris, U.S. Border Patrol has recorded a total of more than 10.3 million encounters with inadmissible aliens, and more than 85% of these illegal aliens have been released into the United States.”

The think tank also cited examples of Harris' past statements to support its assertion that she “has long supported biological males being able to participate in women's athletics,” and highlighted that the Biden-Harris administration's amendments to Title IX added “gender identity” to the list of sex-based protections in federal law, “and thereby allowed men access to women's private spaces, sports and educational opportunities.”

“We have to be woke,” Harris once said, the site noted. “Everybody has to be woke. And you can talk about whether you're the most woke or the most woke, but you have to remain more woke than not woke.”

When Project 2025 leader Paul Dans resigned in June, the Trump campaign issued a statement saying that “reports of Project 2025's demise are very much welcome.” At the time, the Biden campaign tried to use the 900-page conservative plan to alienate voters from the next Trump administration. Nevertheless, Democrats sought to further link Trump to Project 2025 at their national convention in Chicago this month.

“His clear intent to jail journalists, political opponents and those he perceives as enemies,” Harris told the Democratic National Committee about Trump. “His clear intent to deploy active duty military forces against his own citizens. Think of the power he will have, especially after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled him immune from criminal prosecution. Imagine how Donald Trump, without guardrails, would use the enormous power of the presidency of the United States — not to improve your life, not to strengthen our national security, but to serve the only customer he's ever had: himself.”

“We know what a second term for Trump would look like. It's all laid out in Project 2025, written by his top aides,” she said. “The summary is that we're going to take our country back to the past. But America, we're not going back to the past.”
