Hero World Challenge: Round 2 Live Odds, Tee Times, How to Watch, More

The biggest news of the day had nothing to do with the man sitting at the top of the leaderboard, but rather the grip change made by the world's best player.

Scottie Scheffler decided to use a claw grip for putts within 10 feet, which sparked a great deal of controversy in the golf world. He explained how the tournament, which is strictly an exhibition and not an official PGA Tour event, serves as a great opportunity to explore different ideas. He went on to explain how he and putting coach Phil Kenyon brainstormed the idea earlier this year. However, the two decided to wait until now to test it. The claw grip more or less paid off as Scheffler shot a 5-under 67 on the first day. Still, he only hit one putt that was outside 10 feet. No. 18's final stroke of the day was for birdie from about 13 feet.

He sits three strokes behind Cameron Young, who played a perfect round with a bogey-free 64. The New Yorker is 8 under, two strokes behind Justin Thomas. It'll be interesting to see how Young plays with Reed on Friday, especially considering he's the only player on this 20-man roster. No official PGA Tour title.

Here's what you need to know about Round 2 of the Hero World Challenge.
