HGTV star Heather Rae El Moussa shuts down claims her Christmas dress was ‘not appropriate’ for a mom

Heather Rey El Moussa will never be ashamed of being a mother.

The 37-year-old HGTV star is married to Tarek El Moussa, and the couple has a 1-year-old son, Tristan. She is also stepmom to his two children, Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, with ex-wife Christina Hall.

On Christmas Eve, El Moussa shared a series of photos with Tarek, Tristan, Brayden, and many others at what appeared to be a holiday party. In the photo, she wore a revealing red dress made mainly of fishnet and lace.

She received several positive comments about her appearance, with many telling her that the dress was beautiful.

“I want to be like Heather when I grow up! She's so pretty!” one person wrote.

Another comment read: “So glad you wore that dress. This is what it means to take care of your body and work hard.”

There were also more critical opinions. Some commenters criticized her for wearing the risqué dress now that she is a mother.

“The dress is perfect for the bedroom!” one person commented with a crying emoji.

“A dress? Really, and as a mother of a little boy!” another wrote.

Another commented: “That dress is inappropriate for you. [sic] I’m a mother now,” El Moussa responded.

“So, because I'm a mom, I can't wear pretty dresses that make me feel beautiful?” she wrote. per person. “What does that have to do with anything? I'm still human and my name is Heather. I'm not just a mom. Choose joy.”

In addition to comments about her dress, one person commented on her resemblance to Hall, writing, “She looks like Christine, he's the type.”

She jokingly added, “Her name is Christina. Most people have a type…” adding a laughing emoji.

In September, she spoke to FOX News Digital about Tarek and Hall's relationship after the former couple split in 2016. They worked with Hall to film the HGTV show “The Flip Off,” which will premiere in January.

“I feel like we've all come a long way,” she said. “We've been together for five and a half years, married for almost three years, and we're all in a really good place right now, and we're having a great time filming the show and competing against each other. ”

Heather admitted that the show was “stressful at times,” but said she had fun filming it. “We're going to have a lot of laughs and kick her ass.”
