The HHS secretary also highlighted the need to manage obesity epidemics in the United States so that people can live longer and healthier lives.
According to Disease Control Center Prevention, almost 40% of the US adult population is obese.
RFK Jr. said Stanford and Harvard University studies show how mental illnesses, including anxiety and depression, are associated with food.
“Foods are medicines. By changing your diet, you can lose some of those diagnoses,” he suggested.
