HHS Secretary RFK Jr to mandate vaccine placebo trials

Health and Human Services (HHS) Director Robert F. Kennedy Jr. calls for policy changes to call all new vaccines a placebo-controlled trial “a fundamental departure from past practices.”

“Under Secretary Kennedy's leadership, all new vaccines will be subject to safety testing in pre-licensed placebo-controlled trials, a fundamental deviation from past practice,” a HHS spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Thursday.

HHS suggested that, for example, it would be necessary to test the pediatric liability vaccines listed under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“With the exception of the Covid vaccine, none of the vaccines on the CDC's recommended childhood schedule have been tested against inactive placebos, meaning they know little about the actual risk profiles of these products,” a spokesperson for the HHS said.

Placebo testing involving volunteers who have received dummy injections such as saline shots are already a common practice for new pathogens. However, updated versions of proven protective vaccinations often do not take new placebo trials and are instead tested against existing vaccines.

Some health experts have raised concerns about conducting placebo trials and argue that such tests could expose people to illnesses that could otherwise have been prevented.

“The design of vaccine trials can raise challenging ethical questions, particularly with regard to the use of placebo controls when effective vaccines are present.” 2014 World Health Organization Report It says it is listed on the National Institutes of Health website.

The risk of using placebo controls is “when vaccine supply is set up where vaccine supply is limited, vaccine investigation remains, and/or no public health recommendations have been made regarding the use of these vaccines,” and even if effective vaccines are present, it could be ethically justified. article The NIH website also quotes trials from the European Association of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases from pharmaceutical companies.

HHS also criticized the current surveillance system, claiming that the CDC does not properly monitor vaccine complications.

“The CDC's previous practices that curtailed information on vaccine injuries have seriously erode confidence in public health agencies,” the agency said.

“The CDC's own research shows that the Vaers, the post-licensia surveillance system, captures less than 1% of vaccine injuries,” a spokesman for the HHS said. “This is a system designed to break down. Vaccine Safety Data Link (VSD) is intended as a backup for VAERS, but it cannot be used virtually for serious research. Both systems have become templates for regulatory errors.”

Kennedy, who has repeatedly stated that the vaccine has not been properly tested for safety, is seeking greater transparency in its testing and approval process.

“Secretary Kennedy's HHS has pledged radical transparency to the American people,” the spokesman said. “This means that we are honest and easy about medical products, including vaccines, what we know and what we don't know.”

“HHS is currently building a surveillance system that accurately measures the risks and benefits of vaccines, as real science requires both transparency and accountability,” the spokesman added.
