High-end apparel company Arc’teryx moving to Rockefeller Center

Arc’teryx, a Canadian-based manufacturer of luxury outdoor apparel and equipment with five stores in Manhattan, is taking on retail’s biggest stage: Rockefeller Center.

The company has signed a lease for 12,689 square feet at 600 Fifth Avenue between East 48th and 49th Streets in Tishman Speyer.

The two-story store will replace Aritzia, which will move to a larger space at the north end of the block at 608 Fifth, the former home of Topshop, according to a report in the Commercial Observer. .

Arc’teryx’s arrival is the latest in Midtown’s 5th Avenue’s ongoing boom, with stores popping up in previously vacant spaces and some fashion retailers purchasing their own buildings. .

It was unclear when Aritzia and Arc’teryx would move.

An Arc’teryx representative said the company is “excited to continue serving the New York City community” with this addition.
