High Point started strong, leading by as much as five points early on and holding a 56-52 lead with just over 14 minutes left in the game after initially going up 12-2.
The game fluctuated as both teams exchanged baskets, keeping the score tight, with neither side extending their lead beyond three points for a considerable period.
