Massive Biker Rally Disrupts Boston Highways
Drivers in Boston were taken by surprise when over 100 bikers suddenly flooded the highways, causing significant traffic disruptions. This chaotic scene unfolded around 2 PM on Saturday, following a report to Massachusetts State Police regarding a large group of motorcyclists, electric scooters, and dirt bikes cruising through the O’Neill Tunnel.
Michael Filindro, who happened to be driving on the interstate during the incident, described the scene to a local outlet. “First, there were just a few bikes, then it grew to 20. They were running traffic lights and weaving around vehicles, completely unchecked,” he noted.
Video footage captured by bystanders showed many riders without helmets, darting in and out of cars. During this chaos, one of the bikers reportedly collided with a police cruiser, leading the rider to flee on foot. Adam Harrison, a 22-year-old, was arrested at the scene after officers recognized him amidst the group. He later denied any involvement in the event, claiming he was merely a spectator.
Harrison expressed his thoughts, stating he saw bikers climbing the Seaport Bridge and thought it looked fun, but maintained he didn’t participate in the ride. “I’m a 22-year-old guy. I don’t condone that sort of recklessness on the highway,” he added. He has pleaded not guilty to charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, with a court appearance scheduled for September 30.
Witness Michael Lancaster described the event as frightening, revealing how easily the bikers seemed to take over the roads. “We didn’t even hear them coming,” he said. “They just spun around, showing off in front of everyone.”
As of now, Massachusetts State Police and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu have not responded to inquiries regarding the incident.
