Hilaria Baldwin isn’t shy about emphasizing the value of couples counseling. The 41-year-old yoga enthusiast shared insights about her relationship with her husband, Alec Baldwin, who is 67, noting their significant 26-year age gap.

“I don’t think age is just a number, at least not in our case,” Hilaria remarked during her conversation on Caroline Stanbury’s podcast. “There are definitely moments when you realize, ‘He has 26 more years of experience.'” It’s an interesting perspective, isn’t it? It really sheds light on the complexities of their relationship.

Recently, the couple celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary in June 2024, just ahead of Alec’s trial related to the tragic shooting incident on the set of “The Last.” This occurred in October 2021, resulting in the death of cinematographer Halina Hutchins and injuries to others on set. There were crucial miscommunications, with Alec being told the gun was “cold,” indicating it was safe.

Later in July 2024, Hilaria was seen emotionally supporting Alec during a court appearance. The manslaughter charges against him were eventually dismissed, but not without some controversy surrounding the prosecution’s handling of evidence.

Hilaria, who made an appearance on “Dancing with the Stars,” expressed how challenging it can be being married to someone in the public eye. “I was just 27 when I entered a world I was completely unprepared for,” she reflected. Earlier this year, she even playfully admonished Alec during a public event, so it’s clear she navigates this spotlight with a mix of humor and seriousness.

“I want to share my feelings, but I also want people to recognize the wonderful aspects of life. It can be difficult, though,” she continued. “Sometimes I find myself alone in my room, feeling really overwhelmed, you know?” It’s these honest moments that add depth to her public persona.

Of course, being in the limelight comes with its own pressures. Hilaria has faced public backlash, particularly after the inheritance scandal that erupted five years ago. Born Hilary Lynn Hayward-Thomas in Boston, Massachusetts, she was accused of misrepresenting her Spanish heritage after social media investigations brought her background to light.

“It’s hard to get used to being scrutinized,” she admitted. “You never really adapt to mean comments. But if you pause and breathe, you can create some distance from that negativity. I try not to take it personally.” Those are wise words in the age of social media, right?

The couple has seven children: Carmen, Leonardo, Romeo, Eduardo, Maria, and the youngest, Ilaria. Alec also has a daughter from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger, which adds another layer to their family dynamics.
