Hochul Responds to Minaj’s Criticism
In an interesting turn of events, Governor Kathy Hochul pushed back against Nicki Minaj on Thursday after the rapper labeled her as “evil” and suggested that the Democratic Party should replace her. It seems that Minaj’s remarks may have struck a nerve.
“I’m not evil. I’m nice. I’m nice,” Hochul stated emphatically when questioned by The Post about Minaj’s accusations.
This exchange occurred as Hochul was getting into a black SUV while attending a phone banking event in Peekskill, just days ahead of the gubernatorial election.
Hochul elaborated, saying, “She’s been poisoned by Donald Trump, so that is the issue she has to deal with,” in response to inquiries about Minaj’s criticism during a press conference earlier. She added, “Being an outlier right now, that’s her choice. Too much time at Trump rallies is pretty bad for peoples’ mental health.”
Earlier that week, Minaj, who grew up in Queens, criticized Hochul as an “evil woman” and even endorsed GOP candidate Bruce Blakeman for the upcoming race.
“Kathy Hochul is an evil woman,” she remarked on X. “The Democratic Party should forfeit her seat because even if she wins, she will be of great consequence to them. Downward spiral for her. She will not escape God’s wrath. She did not denounce evil when she had the chance.”
Minaj was particularly incensed by previous comments from Hochul, where the governor suggested that “black kids in the Bronx” might not be familiar with computers.
“HOW MUCH MORE DO YOU NEED TO SEE & HEAR FROM THEM?!! HOW DARE YOU AS BLACK PEOPLE VOTE FOR THIS VILE WICKED CURSE OF A WOMAN? HOW DARE YOU AS CHRISTIANS?! SHE STAYS SILENT ON HARM BEING CAUSED TO THE INNOCENT & THIS IS WHAT SHE THINKS OF YOUR CHILDREN! Vote BLAKEMAN!” Minaj exclaimed in a follow-up post.
It appears that the hip-hop artist has been actively supporting Republican candidates alongside President Trump in the lead-up to the 2026 midterm elections.
