Hochul, MTA set to blow off Trump deadline to kill congestion tolls

As NYC mayorate Eric Adams administration has sparked her in lawsuit and supported her to keep the highly controversial scheme alive, Gov. Kathy Hochul is set to blow another federal deadline intended to halt $9 traffic casualties to enter parts of Manhattan.

Both the city and the state Department of Transport on Friday joined the Hotur-controlled metropolitan transport paper filed in February after the White House threatened to block the White House from continuing to collect domestic casualties that came into effect to enter Manhattan under 60 Manhattan on January 5.th street.

“In spite of the administration’s “crony” orders, efforts to immediately reverse the solution to city crowds enacted by elected representatives of New Yorkers are illegal and invalid,” the amended complaint states.

The latest legal salvo has been fired as the White House remains motherly about what stairs the White House will be taken away if New York snubs its Sunday deadline set by the U.S. Department of Transportation to cancel tolls.

Both the governor’s office and the MTA said there are no plans to close the charge cameras.

However, the US DOT claimed on Saturday it was sticking to the deadline despite an agreement between the MTA and Trump administration’s lawyers to maintain toll cameras through the fall, despite reaching a contract in court earlier this month.

“The deadline is April 20th.thand we look forward to New York complying with the program and ending it,” an agency spokesperson said.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakes (R-Staten Island) is the plaintiff, one of many lawsuits attempting to block tolls, and the Hochul administration accused the Hochul administration of violating federal law by pushing busy prices without completing a “full” environmental investigation into the impact of the large apple-wide neighborhood.

“It’s not the first time the governor has violated our laws, right?” Mario Takis said Saturday at an unrelated press conference on Staten Island.

“Is it a sanctuary or not? [city policies]state policies, whether it ignores federal directives or not, this is another example of how the rules are for me, not for you. They don’t want to comply with our federal laws. ”

Pol also said she spoke with Transport Secretary Sean Duffy last week and learned that the Trump administration would “not let go of this.”

“I think the Trump administration needs to come up with some kind of penalty for not following this law,” she told the Post.

“Maybe they want to see certain federal funds withholding, for projects within the congestion zone within Manhattan. Maybe Second Avenue Subway [expansion project]for example. “

The White House had previously requested that the MTA stop collecting tolls on March 21, but Duffy announced before the deadline that the US DOT had allowed the extension to 30 days until Sunday as negotiations continued.

Having grown close to Trump in recent months, Adams has remained slimy at congestion pricing and has not publicly commented on the administration’s involvement in the legal battle.

The city joined the lawsuit just two weeks after the mayor’s historic federal corruption case was withdrawn. Critics speculated that Adams was comfortable in the hopes of getting a presidential pardon before the judges throw the case.

The mayor’s office did not reply to a message.

Curtis Swawa, founder of the Guardian Angels, the presumed Republican candidate in this year’s mayoral election, said the MTA should focus on cracking down on the subway scofflaws, rather than imposing unfair taxes.

“All their resources and focus should be on freight collection, and they are rejecting it,” he said.
