Hochul tells NY businesses not to fear about Trump verdict: ‘Nothing to worry about’

New York Governor Kathy Hochul (Democratic) told New York business owners in a new interview that former President Trump was fined $355 million and was banned from doing business in New York for two years. In response to the incident, he said, “There’s nothing to worry about.” 3 years.

Hochul appeared on WABC 770 AM’s “The Cats Roundtable” with John Catsimatidis and said that other New York businessmen “if they can do that to a former president, they can’t do that to anyone.” “I can do it,” he said, asking if there was any need to worry.

“I think it’s a really unusual situation where New Yorkers, who are law-abiding, rule-abiding businessmen, have nothing to worry about because they’re so different from Donald Trump and his actions,” Hochul said. I complied.

A New York judge on Friday ordered President Trump to pay a huge fine in a civil fraud case. The decision comes just days after New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) filed a lawsuit accusing President Trump of fraudulently altering his net worth to collect tax and insurance benefits, ending a months-long trial. It was handed down a week later.

Judge Arthur Engoron found Trump, the Trump Organization, executives and his adult son responsible for the fraud.

Hochul said he could not overturn Engoron’s decision because “there needs to be a clear separation of powers.” She added, “That’s what the founding fathers envisioned.”

The governor offered reassurance to New York businesses after the ruling. “By and large, they’re honest people who don’t try to hide their assets and follow the rules,” she said of those who own and operate businesses in the New York City area.

“And this judge decided that Donald Trump did not comply with the rules. He was indicted, but the fact is that the governor of New York has no say in the amount of the fine, and we “We want to make sure there’s not that level of intervention,” she said.
